The RRB  syllabus is neither very wide nor too small it comprises with a pattern of the syllabus to which only a regular practitioner can only clear. RRB Non-Technical Exam Pattern: The examination will be as “Online Computer Based Test (CBT)” and total 90 minutes will be the time for the applicants to solve it.
Note: Candidates will be allowed to choose RRB non-technical questions paper in their own regional language. Hindi, English and URDU language paper will be common for all region. Candidates can choose RRB Question paper in Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Manipuri, Punjabi,UdiaMalayalam, Konkani and Asami also.

RRB Syllabus General Awareness: This section includes the knowledge about current affairs and events happening all across the world. Including the Current Affairs, International and National Organizations, Important Days and Dates, Who is Who, National and International Sports, Books and Authors, Science – Inventions and Discoveries, Budget and Plans for the upcoming 5 years, Awards and Honors, Abbreviations, Major Financial/Economic News.
RRB Syllabus Arithmetic Ability: This portion consists of mathematical and quantitative skills which covers the mathematical topics from the start of education till the graduation consisting Number System, Data Interpretation, Decimal Fractions, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Time and Work, Unitary Method, Time and Distance, Mensuration (2D and 3D), HCF, LCM, Algebra, Simplification, Average.
RRB Syllabus General Intelligence: This section is about Multiple choice and Objective type which consists General Science, Mental Ability and General Reasoning based questions, including General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Intelligence & Reasoning.

RRB Syllabus Reasoning Ability: It comprises the identification of the hidden sequence and series in the question and to conclude the reasoning behind the series of events.
  • Verbal Reasoning: Number Series, Test of Direction Sense, Number Ranking, Age Calculation Problems, Alphabet Series, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Arithmetical Reasoning, Decision Making, Analogy
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning: Mirror Images, Non-Verbal Series, Embedded Figures, Grouping Identical Figures, Cubes and Dice
RRB Syllabus General English: This includes the Grammar and Comprehension section in which grammar based questions, including Fill in the blanks,  One word for phrases, Synonyms-Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases etc.
